Filipa Vaz | Lisbon, 1978

Graduated in Visual Arts - Painting from the Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa - FBAUL (Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon), Portugal, in 2006. In 1999, she finished a Conservation and Restoration Course in Mural Painting, at the Fundação Escola Profissional de Recuperação do Património de Sintra (Foundation Professional School for the Restoration of Sintra’s Heritage), Portugal.

In 2000, Filipa Vaz taught mural painting at the above mentioned foundation and between 2001 and 2003, she collaborated as an illustrator with Epicur Magazine. In 2006, she taught painting at the Salusforma training centre and created (in partnership with Andreia Dias) the Espaço Magenta (an introductory painting course for children) at Fábrica da Pólvora, with the support of the Lugar Comum project, in Barcarena, Portugal.

She is currently collaborating with the company Mural da História, Lisbon, in the area of conservation and restoration of mural paintings and teaches Art and Art History at Escola Profissional Gustave Eiffel (Gustave Eiffel Professional School).
