José Nuno Lamas (Lisbon, 1975) graduated in Painting from the Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa - FBAUL (Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon) and Valter Ventura (Lisbon, 1979) graduated in History of Art from the Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa - FLUL (Faculty of Humanities of the University of Lisbon).

They have worked together since 2004. They both finished the Advanced Photography Course, at Ar.Co - Centro de Artes e Comunicação Visual (Arts and Visual Communication Centre), Almada, Portugal in 2005 with scholarships from Kodak and Banco Espírito Santo (Espírito Santo Bank) respectively.

They also completed the Photography Course of the Programa Gulbenkian Criatividade e Criação Artística (Gulbenkian Programme of Creativity and Art Creation) in 2008 and MobileHome - Experimental Course in Contemporary Art, Art Allgarve, Loulé, Portugal.
