opening hours

this online format allows arteportugal to provide a permanent service. Any request for information about the acquisition of works or other matters can be made by e-mail or fax. telephone enquiries can be made form Monday to Friday between 11 a.m and 5 p.m, Lisbon time. If it is not possible to answer your call immediately, leave a message and we will get back to you as soon as possible. If calling from a different time zone that is difficult to conciliate with Lisbon time, we will answer your call at your convenience.

general information

a range of works can be purchased from arteportugal, namely drawings, engravings, sculpture, photography, installation, painting and video. In the case of photography, engraving, video and installation, there may be more than one copy of each artwork for sale. This will be indicated in the respective caption, e.g. Edition 3 (2 available) + 1 PA. This means that there are 4 copies of the work, one of which has already been sold and another which is the artist’s proof (not for sale). There are therefore just 2 copies for sale.
the artworks are usually not framed. However, a few can be sold framed. You may find this indication in the respective caption.

presential viewing of the works

if you would like to view the works in person, contact us by phone, fax, or e-mail to schedule a visit to our premises.

certificate of authenticity

all works have a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist which will be sent together with the work following the sale.

shipping costs

shipping costs include packaging, insurance and door to door delivery. On purchasing an artwork from our online shop, the client has access to the total price and to the breakdown of the abovementioned expenses.

customs duties

the purchaser should obtain the necessary information on customs duties to be paid, where necessary, and make the respective payment to the competent authorities. The artwork purchased will be delivered only after the payment of all customs duties.

payment of VAT

this tax is only applicable to transaction made in Portugal and is fixed in accordance with the law in force for the sale of works of art in this country.

packaging

arteportugal uses the services of Feir Expo for the packaging of all artworks for delivery; this is a reputable company specializing in the transport of works of art and for which it has the necessary credentials. More fragile works will be packed in wooden boxes, as can be seen in the examples shown. For further information, please consult Feir Expo.

    

delivery and return of goods

the works acquired are sent directly to the purchaser by FedEx. This duly certified transport company makes the door to door delivery within 15 (fifteen) working days. After the work has been dispatched, you can follow its progress on the FedEx tracking and tracing system.

if the delivery of an artwork is delayed, for reasons not imputable to arteportugal and/or the transporter contracted for this purpose, arteportugal will not be held responsible for any damages allegedly suffered by the client.

if the delivery of an artwork is delayed for reasons imputable to arteportugal and/or the transporter contracted for this purpose, arteportugal will assume responsibility for both the shipping costs and the return of the goods.

artworks can be returned within a period of fourteen (14) days from the date of reception.

returned works will only be accepted within the time period defined in the above paragraph and on condition that the work has been returned in the same condition that it was delivered and has not been damaged in any way.

shipping costs will not be reimbursed.

buy online

to purchase an artwork, click on “purchase” which can be found at the end of each caption. This will give access to a short registration form which will allow the request of the final price including shipping costs. After completing this form, you will receive an e-mail from arteportugal with the price and the breakdown of the purchase price, insurance, packaging and transport costs together with the link in order to make the purchase online. All information given is confidential and will be used for the sole purposes of the internal management of arteportugal. Immediately after confirmation of the bank transfer, the purchase will be dispatched to the address given by the purchaser with the respective receipt by means of the process described above in the paragraph delivery and return of goods.

method of payment

arteportugal uses the PayPal payment system which assures the safe, simple and quick online purchase of goods or subscription to our catalogues. The Digicert security system and the PayPal allow online transactions to be made without exposing any banking or credit card details. If preferred, the purchase can be made by means of a bank transfer. In this case, please indicate this option when completing the registration form.
